The Test Of Love!

How can you be loving, if your love is not tested,
How can we understand, if our hearts never bested,
Our love is a light, ever dimmed or so bright,
Moments of midnight, or alive in delight,
A world is its playground, lovers held dear,
Never to old, to hold a love near,
So test all those moments, call out like a dove,
You’ll never fall down, if you test it with love.

  1. Hola Mark,

    A heart-felt poem. Thank you!
I was listening to some lovely music recently, while having recently thought about the terrible loss of life in the Ukraine and Israel-Gaza and wrote: “My right eye smiles, while the left one weeps…” and that really summed up how I felt. But words can’t do justice to the state of the world at present. It’s tragic. We have to put our faith in hope and love. Joy xx

    1. Indeed we do Joy, to have faith that it will all speak to us and make us realize that it is only our own fears being projected. Holding us ransom, even the world to ransom, with something that it is only asking us to truly face ourselves, instead of dragging the world with us. In understanding it, it loses its power…forever. May they see, may they understand, may the peace that follows be that breath of love forever more…and set us free. Thank you for sharing kind lady, may you have a peaceful, loving Merry Christmas to you and yours πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ•ŠπŸŽπŸ¦Œβ˜ƒοΈ xox

    1. Thank you kind lady, it does indeed test us to find the truth of what love really means…and let go those parts of us no longer needed, but showed us the way. Have a lovely Christmas to you and yours, may it be full of that love πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽπŸ¦Œβ˜ƒοΈ

        1. Thank you kind lady, blessings gratefully received. And with much love to you all, I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas also πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽπŸ¦Œβ˜ƒοΈ

    1. Thank you Bernice, I didn’t either for along time. It was that young lady from Scotland (scottishmomus) who dared me to come out and play. I just remembered the occasional rhyme to keep me inline, so to speak πŸ€£β€οΈπŸ™

    1. Thank you MM, we do get tested a little. But just so we can see that love within us. My site here seems to have suddenly settled and work properly. I must have been on parole or something 🀣
I hope all is well over your way, no posts for a bit…unless I’m still on parole ‘over there’ πŸ˜‚β€οΈπŸ™

        1. Understandable kind lady, inspiration would be diminished in the current climate. And I’m not sure why but suddenly everyone could like and comment freely on my blog, and I hadn’t done or changed anything at that point. It was like the server finally found I wasn’t an alien 🀣 And speaking of which, that is about the only thing that hasn’t happened yet, some green gentleman landing on the Sydney Harbor Bridge or something πŸ€£β€οΈπŸ™

          1. The current climate definitely puts a damper on my thoughts, which do not conform to mainstream rhetoric. I wouldn’t mind being beamed up by aliens right now. πŸ˜„πŸ‘½πŸ›ΈπŸ˜

            1. I’ve been amazed at the attitudes, you would swear that Israel started it. As much as I don’t like to say this, but this worlds energy will attract exactly what we put ‘out there’…and I ‘feel’ this one is not going to be nice to end it. This one will snowball and draw ‘others’ into it so that a conclusion will require more to finish it I’m afraid. Regardless, may your heart step beyond it and be free kind lady β€οΈπŸ™

              1. Mainstream media here may be different I think. β€œWoman Wage Peace” is an organization that resonates with me. It makes my heart go that step beyond. Thanxx for the caring thoughts, dear Mark. πŸ₯°πŸ™

                1. Yes I’ve noticed that on many occasions, there seems to be some ingrained hate of Israel and for the life of me I cannot see why. But…I can feel it…and it ‘feels’ like Israel trod on some toes, and I’m referring to Western toes and so some will go to any lengths to make it as difficult as possible. And they are a part of the pot being stirred constantly. Everyone points the finger at Hamas etc, and they have their own issues, but these pot stirrers need to be found and dropped into something that will make them wish that they had never been born. And I have been shown hell, and I swear I wouldn’t wish it on any soul…but they are tempting me. I hope this organization does give your heart peace kind lady, to touch that inner journey of a smile beyond that of the outer and be free πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

                    1. Good MM, the picking of sides ever leaves a separation. While ever we hold the pain of the past, individually or in a group, it will hold us in its pain. Love is in stepping beyond it, understanding the way, and that most certainly does not mean ‘pointing the finger in blame’. If we resolve to that, we have missed the point of what love is, and loving ourselves within that. Hate cannot create, it destroys. Love is in creating, and on this journey down here, for creating us in understanding us, and in doing so loving ourselves. May the world ‘see’ beyond it and understand in those peace movements the love that is waiting kind lady. Big hugs to you my friend, may that love and peace created encircle the world in its intent πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

  2. A beautiful poem Mark. ✨️ and your words profound and true.
May we all of us hold Love near.. ❀️ 😍
    Loved your poetic muse.. πŸ’•βœ¨οΈπŸ’•

    1. Thank you Sue, it all tests us…but it all guides us too ❀️
I hope the change of season is allowing a soul to rest in that love, like a dragon or two coming from the heart πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

        1. Yay, looking forward to them then. In the meantime, enjoy a cuppa, relax and say hi to hubby and Biscuit for me. They too have shared themselves for the likes of me in the garden and life as well πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

  3. This is beautiful and for me timely, I’ll hold my dear son’s Light for the rest of my days, just because he is gone that doesn’t diminish his light. I have always loved your words and I hope to have ( to make) time to read more and to write again. Shanti

    1. Just follow that love within you Cheryl. We go through some very, very difficult times in that grieving but it is teaching us much empathy, compassion and love in experiencing it.
They are a powerful gift, a balance for that pain that created it. At the time it is hard to see, but as time goes by it changes us, gives us an appreciation of us in what we have gone through. Guiding us ever closer to that unconditional love within us.
Shanti for you also kind lady, be it that place of understanding that unconditional love is β€οΈπŸ™

    1. I had an urge Lorrie, I don’t do poetry much 🀣 But that urge is our hearts asking us to speak what we feel. To which you do well kind lady. May the testing in that light always be the love you are becoming kind lady. Thank you for sharing it here πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

    1. Thank you Michele, it came upon me out of the blue. An urge to speak differently, and share as you do kind lady. Have a great day, may that urge come upon you, to open your heart and be free πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

  4. Oh wow, Mark, I LOVE your poem!!! And it is spot on for the tests of late have been back to back. I’m to the point I don’t care if I pass or fail. Just get me through this so I can breathe already! I heard someplace this is the time of our journeys that our inner strength will be tested and in so doing our strength will increase even more. Oh yeah, baby, never a dull moment! xoxo

    1. Hey Amy, so glad to have you back. And thank you for your lovely words. You’ve indeed been tested so much my friend, really tested. I’m glad you are well and never trusting a weatherman again 🀣
And I agree Amy, the testing has been very strong, beyond anything remotely normal. Almost like a mass change, over and above anything from years gone by. A ‘shift’ if you will. And yes, I think it will change us but by enduring something very strong rather than chosen change. Mind you, this enduring will ask us to go beyond what was, to become what now has more importance in our lives from that encounter. And yes, there doesn’t seem to be a dull moment at all.
Great to hear from you kind lady, looking forward to more artistic change, whatever your love builds it from. Welcome home xox πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

      1. Mark, I only revealed two circumstances among many. It’s been seriously pouring metaphorically. I’ll tell you another …. my car, a manual transmission, (6 on the floor), stalled in the middle of an extremely busy intersection blocking ALL traffic. I could have been killed. I still today cannot explain what happened cuz my car acted in a way it never has before. No there is nothing wrong …. it was as though a Force overrode what I attempted to do, (depress the accelerator) yet when I did depress it I was only met with empty, air, something other then gas. And that is why my car stalled. I did get the understanding WHY this happened 2 days later but at the time, I was shaken to the bones. When I understood my jaw dropped. Yep, there’s another. I could go on.

I agree this testing will make us go beyond what we know. Presently I’ve been asking just where have I landed cuz for certain not too much feels familiar. However it’s a place where synchronicities are happening more often and my spiritual over body (my soul) is connecting easier which means the clues and directions are becoming clearer. It’s just that I have to be aware of how to interpret and to catch them. We are no longer in the old paradigm, not by a long shot. Those of us who have been consistently cleaning up on the inside are now experiencing life in a brand new way ….. and boy! do I wish it came with a manual. LOL

Thank you for the welcome back and welcome home, Mark. Those words mean a lot. So much love your way!!! From my heart to yours! πŸ’•

        1. Thank you kind lady, and these times are indeed very different. I thought I was trundling along going well and all of a sudden my gear stick shifted up a gear and suddenly it was like I was back in 1st class all over again, touching places very new. Yes, a manual would be nice indeed…but like all of life I suppose those experiences take us a long way πŸ˜€ Now I haven’t been told this in any way…but the ‘speed up’ feels like two things. Time to go beyond what we were, and time…because it is running out. I hope I’m wrong in the running out bit. Glad to have you back my friend, glad your heart is opening more, and glad that our hearts met to share our path through it all. Thank you πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

  5. It must be love testing our rhyming skills at the moment😎 I’ve just finished one I might publish soon❀️ AND yours is so apt in todays climate as we are all being tested to see the extent of our understanding of love, of ourselves! No matter what is thrown upon us or how we throw ourselves upon the ground quite literally😩❀️
It’s how we stand firm and shine our light, oh so brightly!
Because indeed the world truly needs all the love it can getπŸ’ƒπŸ•ΊπŸ™ Thankyou dear Mark for your wise and loving words. Wishing you a great weekend of love and cheer x

    1. Hey Barbara, and yes, the world does indeed need to see just where their hearts are in this testing climate. God is indeed about love…but how can we be so far from it. I know we need to face change to knock down the old to create the new within that…but I just stand gobsmacked seeing and hearing that pain.
Regardless kind lady, it is good to hear your rhyming wishes to speak too, the more that beauty creates something the more is shared out there. I am looking forward to it. Have a great weekend, and enjoy that light you are creating within by doing so my friend. And thank you for sharing πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

  6. Love comes in so many forms and we have a lifetime to explore each of them. Yes, getting tested by love is a blessing… when even we cannot understand at times.

    1. Thank you Erika, and it does take a lifetime of testing to gradually guide us beyond those fears and in doing so get us to see ‘us’ in going through it. Experience in anything we do gets us better and better until it just comes naturally. Become the master, even if an error or two comes along. It is in accepting us regardless. I can never forget that day that I saw that purpose in it all, saw that it really wasn’t the craziness we see for so, so long. The tears were for something that showed there isn’t anything wrong with us, we are going somewhere, and finally find that love and happiness we ever search for. The beauty in it is truly beyond words. Thank you for sharing your love kind lady, as time goes by it does indeed shine brighter and brighter…your shining well πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

      1. Love leads us to all our misunderstandings of love to finally reveal its real depth. You have seen it in a challenging but remarkable way that changed your life or at least your view on love. Something so great that is there for each one and for all of us together, leading us through its lessons to our final destination: eternal light (of love).

        1. Thank you Erika, it has been an ‘interesting’ time. But I did get angry at God and asked Him to show me where there was purpose in such a crazy mixed up world…so He did. And I will admit now it truly tested me (as it does for all of us), but that light of understanding at the end down here I would not swap for anything. That final touch is worth every step we take, good and bad. So I share what I was shown (as Spirit asked me to), to give hope to those still in that struggle so that they can have that hope that there is indeed something very profoundly beautiful in it all. Just as you do kind lady, a place to share and give that hope too πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

          1. “Ask and you are given.” That always works in case we are open to the replies. It is definitely worth it when even it can take us to the edge of the bearable.
Let’s remain curious for all answers πŸ’–

            1. Yes it does take us to that place inside, and to be truthful, I think it needs to so that we will ‘let go…and let God’ guide us in whatever form His love speaks to us. I argued with myself for so long that He was unconditional so how could He interfere with our journey. Until I realized that love is everything, the air we breath, this world, that love. So we all use it every day because it is a part of this world/universe. So as a natural part of this world, that energy of unconditional love is attracted accordingly to guide us…or blocked as we do in our intent and actions. As ever it is up to us in our intent. We shall get there Erika, it just needs a little encouragement occasionally πŸ€£β€οΈπŸ™

              1. Yes, indeed! Sometimes we need that kick to stand up and look at everything from a distance, understanding that we are not pushed but guided. And that is THE difference which only love makes.

    1. We’re getting there Pam, it’s that ‘time’ thing so we can feel it all and understand. But just praying a little harder that it tries to speed it up a little for the Middle East. And thank you for sharing your love (and especially the laughter that goes with it), in your blog kind lady πŸ€£β€οΈπŸ™

    1. Thank you Ka, occasionally an urge to relax into a rhyme. Not a grand verse but it speaks with the heart, those lines we can feel. Thank you for sharing kind lady πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

    1. Haha, we all go there kind sir. We have to test those doubts and fears to realize we are indeed that unconditional love inside. Wait till you touch it…profound…there isn’t another word that can come close. Enjoy the journey my friend, when you see it you will be glad of every single step, good and bad, that you have ever taken πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

  7. Oh! Mark, I just love this. You outdid yourself my friend. I especially love the line β€œNever too old, to hold a love near.” It couldn’t be more optimistic and hopeful.

Our love should definitely be tested. For Pete’s sake, we test the water in the tub before we get in. We test how the pot of soup tastes before we serve it. We take a car out on a test drive.

Why wouldn’t we be willing to test something as important as love?

    Nice post Mark.
    Ginger

    1. Haha, thank you Ginger. Hopefully it is optimistic to show that if we exercise it, it will grow accordingly. And yes, dip it like our toe in the bathtub, feel it under all circumstances to show us who we are. And even if it is a bit hot we always ask ourselves can we do this or not, testing that love within ourselves.
Always testing us beautifully kind lady, and thank you for sharing yours. Gratefully received and returned in kind my friend πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

    1. I don’t do poems very often but the urge was upon me. Thank you Danielle, your heart is indeed seeing in a whole new way. Thank you for sharing it πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™

      1. This poem resonated on so many levels! Down to you mentioning the dove πŸ•ŠοΈ I’ve been seeing doves everywhere- and Michael and I went to a Buddhist temple near by and they had white doves there πŸ’–

        1. I remember a long time ago visiting a Buddhist temple down on the south coast and was so amazed at the sound of their chanting inside was vibrating the entire place, our bodies were almost floating from it. It was an incredible experience. No doves there but they are certainly speaking to you kind lady, and as your energy settles closer to that unconditional love you will find that many animals no longer classify you as one of those humans and will come close, allow you to share their space and it will feel beautiful. Enjoy the peace and love you become Danielle, it is another world πŸ˜€β€οΈπŸ™
